Put an asterisk because our B&B is closer and our target hotel is also closer so it's probably more like 17Km only which is good to test out the antiblister tech, got some new super blister pads from someone else at breakfast

Terrain: Good paths and gravel tracks through open hillside, woodland and forestry, open hillside from Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy, two steeper climbs out of Crianlarich followed by one steeper descent

  4. #

Relatively gentle to Tyndrum and then some more moderate ascents and descents, finally a steep climb out of Bridge of Orchy and down into Inveroran

Us being closer today does mean tomorrow will be longer though, heading out soon!

  6. #

Off! I always take my jacket almost immediately so trying skipping it for now

  7. #

Ironically rainiest day yet so I put the raincoat on right fast, but we made it!

  8. #

This was the Ewich bnb we stayed at

  9. #

Feels like if they got mad that tiny fence would have done nothing

  10. #

This was the view heading out from the bnb, really does feel magical

  11. #

280 days of rain is nuts

  12. #

Ruins of a 13th century priory along the way

  13. #

The road goes ever on and on...

  14. #

Love this moss? or whatever it is on the trees

  15. #

Took a picture of these to Google lense them and see if they were edible, turns out they are but not great raw and better in jams, Rowan berries

  16. #

Really just so pretty and photos did t really capture it

  17. #

Think this is the only photo I have of a section that was like a complete different biosphere, all ferny and seems to have plants that almost felt like they were hardy desert plants... Should have taken a few more as part of what surprised me this leg is the variety in biomes

  18. #

A lot of Cairns here (the stone towers)

  19. #

Like these are the next two photos so combined with the ferns and the fairy tale forest seemed like so many environments

Got side tracked by dinner where we saw the couple doing our itinerary, they did the full day that we ended early and looked like even a day after their soul had not returned to their body... They walk faster than us and onl finished at 7pm so we made the right choice stopping

    Back to the posting.

The final stretch was along an old military or drudger's road I think along this kind of scenery which was nice even if looks a bit drab, it just felt cool and highland-y

  22. #

Had lunch after struggling to find a place to sit as everything was wet and muddy but there were some waist-ish height stones here to act as stools, along a lull in the drizzle

  23. #

This was sort of indicative of the final stretch, rainy, lots of puddles on a rocky road, missing the places where all of it was water and needed to go through or into the mud around the edges, feel like I didn't really capture this leg too well but I really enjoyed it

  24. #

This was our shoes at the end (only reason mine aren't as muddy is that they originally were but I stopped caring about puddles and just walked through water plus I stepped in mud earlier so the rain had more time to clean them)

  25. #

Then dinner had some really nice asparagus and a traditional haggis but honestly it felt really bland??

Anywho bed time shortly, here's the stats for the walk
