This morning woke up, the covid test guy came to the Airbnb to do my mom's test (she's flying out at 2am so she's going to the party and straight to the airport from there -- after changing of course), then dad's wife and my mom got whisked away to the salon for hair and make-up.

My dad and I wanted a bite and so I said let's go to the place I mentioned here since it had been closed, we get there and unfortunately their kitchen is under maintenance so they didn't have non cafe-y pastries food

So we got a tiramisu cheesecake and a lemon one, some coffee and some more mint lemonades on a nice view overlooking the city near the Citadel

We talked there for a while and I caught up on the family happenings as well as some of the background on why despite having three priest uncles and sisters in the Opus Dei, with very catholic parents he had swerved the religious aspect (bless up), here's an unrelated time lapse

It was a really nice chance to talk one on one as it's been hectic. After that we could either go the uh.. royal car museum or something like that or the Jordan Museum, in hindsight the car museum night have been more interesting even though neither of us care much about cars...

The Jordan Museum mostly dealt with the history from prehistoric times up to right before the Islamic period. To be honest I was enjoying it as I do love reading about the rise of societies and this region was close to a lot of the early centers of civilization

Dad wasn't really into it though because he felt it had too much intersection with the museum at the Citadel I'd gone to earlier this week as well, so we kind of rushed through, I liked the section about writing because the history of language and its tools interests me a lot

There was also a central less-chronologic section with some interesting facts about the country, the one that stood out the most was the comparative water usage of these desert nations

After that we ubered to the Airbnb to wait for "the event", I chose not to eat again and now I'm waiting to shower closer to our pickup time and put on my suit

As for the results of the salon I know fiancee is seething because they got railroaded into what i can charitably describe as at home in the move Grease stylings + extreme makeup if my mom and dad's wife are anything to go by... I feel a bit helpless cause I know she hates it 😖

"The Event" has concluded. More to come but for now I'm in the bridal suite huge room at the hotel by myself cause they'd paid for it and why not. I think they thought it was a wedding party but it wouldn't fly here to have her sleep over too... It would not be appropriate... 😶
