    Good morning

  3. #

Had breakfast buffet, pretty normal but with some more tropical fruits which was nice

  4. #

Now waiting in the activity bus

  5. #

This is as much as i know about what exactly we'll be doing other than pretty pictures (that cost extra) on the listing

  6. #

Just got hit with my rise and grind work alarm, forgot to turn off my weekday wake up, but we're still on the way to Puerto Moreno

  7. #

Since we're going to be swimming and getting wet, I'll probably have to leave my phone in the van to prevent it from either getting stolen or wet so there might be a long delay on updates... Not sure if between the 4 cenotes we're going to I'll be able to get it out so til later!

  8. #

Can sometimes update between cenotes, on the way to third, first two were in the jungle so no signal

  9. #

First cenote (sinkhole - which are common here due to the ground composition) was one with ziplines which was a nice shot of adrenaline, Farah screamed the first time we went (as expected).

  10. #

The scariest part for me is make my sure my eyes are closed at the moment of water impact since I don't want my contacts to fly out as that would be awkward.

  11. #

The other slightly annoying thing is that while the water shoes I bought fit "fine" they aren't tight enough for jumping into water at high speed or certain types of swimming motions so i had to ditch them.

  12. #

Second cenote was a really cute kayaking section through a mini jungle valley. It was super pretty with the way the light filtered through. This was followed by a snorkeling (without breathing tube) on a small section near a central island.

  13. #

The water was pretty clear but this part was only so so, plants near the island were nice but nothing really exceptional. The kayaking portion was much more interesting.

  14. #

Third cenote was the funnest so far, it started off with a way we slide into it, did that a couple of times, then we did a Zipline into a part that was a little further in with a stern warning to let go before you hit the wall. .

  15. #

Then we did a swimming section which was really magical, similar feel to the kayaking area slowly swimming through a canyon like section surrounded by jungle leading up to a cove where the reflection from the water was causing the light to dance on the rocks in a mesmerizing way.

  16. #

After that we got to jump off the cliff,l straight in which terrifies me but we both did it! Farah landed a bit off and it hurt a little but she still did it with me! I did it one more time after psyching myself up.

  17. #

After that was a decent enough spread for lunch with a sandwich and some cold cuts and cheeses. Onwards to the last with a rappel-y section.

  18. #

Fourth was, as expected, a "rappel" section into a cave cenote. It was more precisely controlled descent than anything else but still fun. The cave cenote was pretty and i thinking would have been stunning if there had been direct sunlight filtering in.

  19. #

It also had a jumping platform but it was much lower than the previous so you could be a bit more adventurous than feet first. With that the excursion is ending and we're on our way back.

  20. #

We'll get pictures through a paid package in a day or two but doing pics yourself would really take you out of the moment worrying about your phone and water and etc, so i think it's worth it. As soon as we got back in the van it started pouring so we missed it by minutes, lucky!

  21. #

Now drive, relax and wait for dinner. We're probably the last to be dropped off as we were the first to get picked up.

  22. #

5 mins later it stopped raining, love da tropics.

  23. #

Definitely forgot to update that I got to the hotel and relaxed a bit while waiting for dinner, now ready to head out soon. One thing that sucks is the wifi and reception in this room kind of blow

  24. #

Now back at the hotel, will update some food pics and remark we had an awesome time but as a small aside I fucking hate the taxi culture here of arbitrary prices that change based on who knows what

  25. #

The view and vibe at the resto was very good

  26. #

Started off with some drinks while we waited for the friend, very neat flavor wise, one cucumber wasabi and one with like hot peppers of some kind

  27. #

Also the pouring was so extra

  28. #

Then had some hamachi appetizer which was delicious

  29. #

Followed by the bento box to share which had a lot of little elements to it

  30. #

Got to see a fire show too

  31. #

Hard to get good pics of it due to where we sat, it wasn't mind-blowing or anything, the "sundae" dessert was so extra and did not in any way resemble a sundae

  32. #

Then there was a fireworks display which was cool but today is a random Monday... Hope it's not a daily thing

  33. #

View from the pier, guess I'd smudged my camera or something?

  34. #

It was lovely to catch up with her, sucks our trips only really intersect today but such is life, after that was taxi time with higher rates back time since it was also raining... Also the place was super good but fancy, didn't expect it to be as expensive as it ended up beinga

  35. #

And now it's time to sleep, tomorrow seems to be rainy so depending on how it is we'll play the next plans for our journey to Tulum by ear, good night reader(s?)
